Imlwan

Imlwan
(singular Imlwi)
They are known as Rguagua in Moroccan Arabic. Most of them are also landless. The only difference between them and Haratine is the fact that they speak Tamazight, or Berber. Rguagua are newcomers to the upper Ziz Oasis of southcentral Morocco. Because of recurrent droughts, they migrated to the upper Ziz communities or were brought by Berbers to cultivate and work land. They trace their history to the fringes of the Ziz Oasis, occupying the area of Alnif and Msisi between Rissani and Zagora, or Reg, and hence their name. They are known to have practiced Henna cultivation.
